Sadat College GS of banned BCL held in city

DHAKA, April 8, 2025 (BSS) - Police today arrested a leader of the 
banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) from the city’s Pallabi area as 
he took part in a sudden procession of the Dhaka South City Awami 
League few days back. 

The arrested has been identified as Sohel Ansari (40), general secretary 
(GS) of the Government Sadat College, Tangail unit of the BCL.

A squad of the Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Sohel from 
Pallabi area around 3.45pm today, said a police press release.

During the preliminary interrogation, he confessed that he went to 
Dhaka to take part in a sudden procession of the Dhaka South city AL, it 
added.  

The arrestee was accused in multiple cases in connection with attacks on 
Anti-Discrimination Movement in Tangail.
