Ex-Jatrabari OC remanded in attempted murder case

DHAKA, April 9, 2025 (BSS) - A Dhaka court here today placed Abul Hasan, former officer-in-charge (OC) of Jatrabari Police Station, on a three-day remand in a case lodged over attempted murder of Manjurul Hasan Jisan during the July-August mass uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiak passed the orders as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to place him on a five-day remand. 

The victim, 19-year-old Manjurul Hasan Jisan, was shot by police on his leg in front of Jatrabari Police Station during the mass uprising on August 5 last year. Later, he was rushed to hospital and underwent prolonged treatment. 

His father Md Taj Uddin, 66, filed the case on September 19. Police on September 16 arrested Abul Hasan from Teknaf, Cox's Bazar.
