LAKHMIPUR, April 10, 2025 (BSS) - Police has detained one person in connection with the attack on local BNP leader Azizur Rahman Bachchu Molla, also father of Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuz Alam.
 
Sagar Hossain Shukkur, Deputy General Secretary of Chhatra Dal district unit was arrested from Pubachal area of Kaliganj thana, Gazipur today, OC of Ramganj Police Abul Basar said.  

Police also intercepted Abdul Quader, Senior Vice-President of Jubo Dal, Ichapur Union Ward along with Shukkur. But, he was released later as he was not involved in the attack, the OC said.

Shukkur was sent to jail through a court under Section 154 this afternoon.

Azizur Rahman Bachchu Mollah suffered critical injuries and took treatment at Ramganj Upazila Health Complex as he came under attack of a group of miscreants on March 30 last at Narayanpur of Ramganj Upazila on March 30 last.
