DHAKA, April 10, 2025 (BSS)- Police has arrested a drug dealer from Basundhara residential area under Vatara police station.

Tafsir, 30, was arrested yesterday (Wednesday), Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Police Commissioner of Media and Public relations of DMP said today.

Receiving information of a suicidal case Vatara thana police went to a residential building to recover the body of a woman and brought her husband Tafsir to the police station for interrogation.

During interrogation Tafsir admitted about his involvement with drug trafficking. Based on his information police raided his house and recovered 86 kgs of hemp from there worth about Taka 11 lakh

A case has been filed with the Vatara thana in this connection under the drugs control act.

According to police, the body of the deceased was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
