Three hill districts to enjoy general holiday on April 13

DHAKA, April 10, 2025 (BSS) – The government has declared a general holiday in the three hill districts - Rangamati, Khagrachhari, and Bandarban- on Sunday (April 13) on the occasion of the Chaitra Sankranti.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification declaring a holiday on April 13 through an executive order on March 27.

This holiday will be optional in other districts of the country for the people associated with Chaitra Sankranti.

The two days-Friday and Saturday-before April 13, are weekly holidays.

Besides, April 14 is a government holiday on the occasion of Pohela Baishakh. As a whole, the people of the three hill districts will enjoy a four-day holiday.

The notification said that all government, semi-government, autonomous, semi-autonomous and private offices in Rangamati, Khagrachhari, and Bandarban districts will remain closed during the holidays.
