DHAKA, June 25, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today ordered to freeze two bank accounts and a savings certificate of Md Jahangir Alam, former personal assistant to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a petition filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft body in its plea said it has filed case against Jahangir for amassing illegal wealth of TK 18.29 crore and making suspicious transactions of TK  625 crore through 23 bank accounts under his name and names of different companies owned by him.

“The ACC in its investigation found that the accused is trying to hand over his immovable properties. So the properties should be frozen immediately,” the petition added.
