DHAKA, July 16, 2025 (BSS) - BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman stood by Cox's Bazar Bharuakhali Union Chhatra Dal leader Shakib Uddin Avi, who was seriously injured in a brutal attack by terrorists.

At the instructions of Tarique Rahman, a central delegation led by BNP Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam came to a private hospital in Chattogram to see the injured Avi.

The BNP delegation spoke to Avi's physicians and requested them to ensure his proper treatment. 

They also met Avi's family members and assured them of his treatment and provided financial assistance on behalf of the BNP acting chairman. 

Since the incident, BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has been keeping contact with Avi's family through Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam.

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir, former Jubo Dal Vice President Mosharraf Hossain and JCD Senior Vice President Abu Afsan Md. Yahia were present.

BNP health affairs secretary in a short speech said some political parties are creating unrest in the country to delay the elections. 

They are creating anarchy everywhere, starting from educational institutions, and are dishonoring the blood of martyrs, he said. 

Former Bharuakhali Union Jubo Dal president and current BNP joint general secretary Rahim Uddin Sikder was brutally killed in a terrorist attack in Faterghona area of Cox's Bazar town recently. 

Bharuakhali Union Chhatra Dal president Shakib Uddin Avi and many others were seriously injured in the same attack.
