DHAKA, July 16, 2025 (BSS)- Dhaka University unit of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) today staged a torch-lit protest procession in  Dhaka University(DU) Campus demanding justice of the murderer  of Coxbazar BNP leader Abdur Rahim.

Leaders and activists from Dhaka University, Halls and outside participated in the torch-lit protest procession and chanted slogans against Jamaat-Shibir.

From the rally, JCD leaders urged the government to immediately bring the murderers to book and restore the law-and-order situation in the country.

DU JCD president Sahosh Chondro Roy said, “After August 5, we were hopeful and were assured that our campuses—from primary schools to universities—would become truly student-friendly, where students could focus on their education and careers. But despite our expectations, we continued to face discrimination, especially in job recruitment. The previous regime used the Liberation War as a cover to impose a biased quota system, which blocked opportunities for ordinary students like us.

“The government couldn’t fulfil this desire of students, rather allowed a mob and discriminatory culture in the campuses,” he added.

He accused a particular group of students of creating unrest in the country and in the campus areas.

DU JCD secretary Nahiduzzaman Shipon and JCD leader Masum Billah spoke on the occasion among others.
