DHAKA, July 17, 2025 (BSS)- Noted researcher, litterateur and president of Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigoshthi Prof. Badiur Rahman died while undergoing treatment at a city hospital last night.
He breathed his last in the midnight on Wednesday while he was undergoing treatment at city’s Health and Hope hospital, family sources said.
People of all strata paid tributes to him at Central Shahid Minar at 11am by placing floral wreath on his coffin.
Udichi central sangsad, Bangladesher Communist Party, NAP communist party, Chhatra Union special guerrilla force, Bangladesh Chhatra Union, Bangladesh Jubo Union, Central Khelaghor Asor and Charan Sangskrit Kendra paid respect to him.
Speaking on the occasion, Udichi central Sangsad general secretary Amit Ranjan Dev recalled the role of Professor Badiur Rahman in all activities of Udichi till his death.
His body was taken to Barishal for burial later today.
Before the burial he will be given guard of honor as a freedom fighter and cross section of people of Barishal will also pay homage to him at Barishal Central Shahid Minar, sources said.
