ACC sues Tarique Siddique, family members in four cases

DHAKA, July 17, 2025 (BSS)- The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) today filed four corruption cases against Maj. Gen. Tarique Ahmed Siddique (retd), defence adviser of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and other family members.

The family members sued in the case are- Tarique’s wife Shaheen Siddique, his two daughters-Nurin Tasmia Siddique and Bushra Siddique. 

The ACC filed the cases this afternoon on charge of acquiring illegal wealth after getting approval of the Commission today, ACC Director General (DG) Akter Hossain said.

According the case statement Tarique Siddique acquired wealth worth over Taka 28.59 crore beyond his known income sources. The ACC also found his suspicious transaction of Taka 62 crore through four bank accounts.

The ACC alleged that Shaheen Siddique has acquired illegal wealth worth Taka 25.76 crore  during her husband’s service time. She also made suspicious transaction of Taka 59.38 crore through her 11 bank accounts.

The ACC found their daughters Nurin Tasmia Siddique and Bushra Siddique acquiring illegal wealth of Taka 3.37 crore and 4.2 crore respectively.


The ACC found that the total wealth of Tarique Ahmed Siddique is worth about Taka 48.65 crore whereas his acceptable income is Taka 20 crore. 

Similar disparities were also detected about the wealth and properties of Shaheen Siddique and her two daughters.

ACC Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya filed the cases under the ACC Act and Money laundering Act.
