DNCC to give ‘Citizen Award’ for contribution to city development

DHAKA, July 17, 2025 (BSS)- Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has taken initiative to give ‘Citizen Award-2025’ to individuals and organizations for their contribution to city’s development.

“The award, first of its kind, will be given for contribution to city development, environment conservation, social service and services for raising public awareness on impending issues,” DNCC administrator Mohammad Ezaz said.

The motto of the award is to create a responsible society of the citizens with the theme ‘My city, My Responsibility’.

The DNCC administrator said, it’s possible to build a sustainable city for future through recognizing and encouraging the initiatives of the citizens, their environment friendly thinking and services to the society.

This initiative would help the young generation to connect with social leaders and innovative practices, he added.

The individuals and organizations who are the driver of positive changes in the areas of education, technology and culture are the real claimer of the award.

The citizen award will be given 30 persons or organizations under six categories. Any person, social organization, small entrepreneurs, medial or content creator and innovator or start-up who are playing a positive role in city’s development will be nominated for the award.

Online application form for the award will be available on the DNCC official website from current month. However, active politicians and persons convicted on corrupt charges cannot apply.

Interested persons, institutions or organizations can apply along with the description of the project, picture and videos and necessary documents.
