BGB provides financial aid, free medical services to 6 injured, in mine explosion

DHAKA, July 17, 2025 (BSS)– The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today provided financial assistance to six people injured in mine explosions and free medical services, medicines and distributed food to 200 individuals among  marginalized communities. 

The aid and medical services have been provided in a public awareness meeting, held by BGB to prevent mine explosions, illegal border crossing and smuggling of drugs in the border area of Jamchhari in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban. 

The Jamchhari BOP under the supervision of BGB's Naikhongchhari Battalion (11 BGB) organized the meeting aimed at checking mine explosions, illegal border crossing and smuggling of  drugs, said a BGB press release. 

Lieutenant Colonel SKM Kafil Uddin Kayes, Commander of Naikhongchari Battalion, was present as the chief guest at the program.

The BGB commander called upon all to work together to prevent illegal border crossings to reduce mine explosions to zero level. 

At this time, all those present expressed a strong commitment not to cross the border illegally.

The Deputy Commander of Naikshongchari Battalion, along with other officers, BGB members, local dignitaries and media personnel were present at the program.
