Curfew in Gopalganj relaxed for 14 Hours

DHAKA, July 19, 2025 (BSS) - The ongoing curfew in Gopalganj district has been relaxed for 14 hours today, from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm, the local administration confirmed.

The announcement was made via a public order issued by Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Muhammad Kamruzzaman, who stated that further decisions on the curfew would be taken after assessing the law and order situation in consultation with law enforcers.

The curfew was initially imposed following attack on a roadside meeting of the National Citizen Party (NCP) in Gopalganj district from 8pm on July 16 and 6pm to July 17. 

During the second phase, the curfew period was extended till 6pm on July 17 to 11 am to July 18. With a three-hour break from 11 am to 2 pm on July 18, the curfew was re-imposed from 2 pm on July 18 until further orders. 

Later, the curfew period was extended in the third phase from 8 pm on Friday to 6 am on Saturday.
