BHOLA, July 19, 2025 (BSS) - As part of ensuring law and order and curbing crimes, Bangladesh Navy arrested a man over abusing a male child and seized illegal nets from a godown at Monpura here last night.
The child abuser was identified as Md Ilias Hossain (28), who abused the male child on June 28 at Monpura in the district.
Later, victim's mother filed a written complaint with the Bangladesh Navy's contingent on July 17, according to a press release of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
On the basis of the complaint, the Navy investigated the matter seriously and finally they located the criminals' position at a bazaar and conducted a drive last evening.
The Navy team arrested Ilias and his associate Hasan Master from there, the release said.
Apart from this, the Navy team seized about 70 lakh metres of illegal current nets worth Taka 25 crore from a godown, it added.
During the drive, police, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and concerned people were present.
Bangladesh Navy will continue their regular drives against drugs, terrorism and other crimes across the country, the ISPR said.
