DHAKA, July 19, 2025 (BSS)- Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), today offered fateha and munajat at the grave of martyr Asif Hasan at his native village Askarpur under Debhata upazila in Satkhira district on the occasion of his first martyrdom anniversary.

Asif Hasan, who was killed in police firing in Dhaka's Uttara area, during the July movement last year and JCD's district unit today observed his first martyrdom anniversary with deep respect and love, reads the Facebook page of BNP's media cell this afternoon.

JCD leaders of its Satkhira district and upazila units jointly visited the grave of Asif Hasan. They also talked to his family members and also spent there some time.

Asif died on the spot after being shot at the left side of his chest due to police firing during an anti-discrimination students' movement procession on July 18, 2024.

He embraced death while trying to save his fellow agitator. His self-sacrifice has become a unique example in student politics, gearing up the next course of anti-Sheikh Hasina movement, the BNP press wing mentioned.

JCD district unit former organising secretary Abu Raihan, former office secretary Jahangir Alam Palash, JCD leaders Md. Shahin Islam, Firoz Hossain Tuhin, Rubel Hossain, Nazmul Huda Ronti, Hazrat Ali Tipu, Ibrahim Gazi and Omar Faruk, among others, were also present there.
