Former MP Mannan Talukder laid to eternal rest

SIRAJGANJ, July 19, 2025 (BSS) - Abdul Mannan Talukder, a member of the BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council and former BNP lawmaker from Sirajganj-3 (Raiganj-Tarash) constituency, was laid to eternal rest at municipality Malshapara graveyard here after Asr prayers today. 

The fifth namaz-e-janaza of Abdul Mannan Talukder was held on the ground of Sirajganj Government Islamia College. Earlier, his first namaz-e-janaza was held at South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad in the capital while second was held at Tarash in Sirajganj, third in Dhubil village and fourth was held on Raiganj High School ground.

He passed away at his residence in Dhanmondi, Dhaka at 11 am yesterday at the age of 89.

Abdul Mannan Talukder was also a former chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Local Government Ministry and a former president of Sirajganj District BNP.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, two daughters, and a host of relatives, political colleagues, and admirers.

His death has cast a pall of gloom among people of all walks of life in Raiganj, Tarash, and Salanga, transcending political affiliations. Widely respected by the people of Sirajganj, Abdul Mannan Talukder was known for his charitable nature.
