KHULNA, Sept 19, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) Chairman Abu Momtaz Saad Uddin Ahmed today said that BRTA officials will respond immediately to any road accident across the country and stand by the victims and their families.

“If anyone dies in an accident, our officials will remain with the family until the burial or cremation completes. The compensation form will also be delivered directly,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at a programme organized by the BRTA Trustee Board in collaboration with the Khulna District Administration here.

The BRTA Chairman expressed concern over the excessive number of vehicles on the roads.

“While only 40,000 vehicles are permitted, around 140,000 are currently plying. This is one of the major causes of road accidents,” he said.

He called for coordinated efforts from all stakeholders to make the roads safer, saying, “A safe road network is possible only through collective responsibility.”
