87 innovative projects showcased at skills and innovation competition in khulna

KHULNA, Dec 6, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 87 innovative projects were showcased at the Khulna regional round of the "Skills and Innovation Competition 2025," held Saturday at Khulna Polytechnic Institute.

The competition, aimed at enhancing the creativity and skills of technical education students, saw participation from 261 students of 29 technical institutions. Seven top projects were selected for the national round scheduled for Dec 27 in Dhaka.

The event was organized under the ASSET project of the Directorate of Technical Education, Ministry of Education. 

Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, Secretary of the Technical and Madrasah Education Division, attended as chief guest at the event, while Khulna Deputy Commissioner A. S. M. Jamshed Khandaker presided over the seminar. Prof. Md. Nurunnabi Molla of KUET presented the keynote paper.

The programme also included a morning rally, a seminar on technical education, and an award-giving ceremony. The event drew students, teachers, industry representatives, civil society members, media, and guardians.

The institutional round was held nationwide on Sept 27 in 211 technical institutions, where about 10,000 students presented 3,209 projects. The national round in Dhaka will feature 50 projects from eight regions, with three winning innovations receiving prizes.
