Ctg mayor warns Pvt orgs of action if fail to provide services properly

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 21, 2025 (BSS) - City Mayor Dr Shahadat Hossain has issued a warning of cancelling work order for the ‘Door-to-Door’ project under the Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) if the private organizations fail to provide services as per the specified conditions.

“Some organizations have been accused of negligence in performing their duties. Contracts will be terminated if they fail to provide the required services. The door-to-door project may be shut down, and cleaning activities will revert to previous protocols if needed. Projects that do not meet public satisfaction may be discontinued,” he added.

He made the remarks during a meeting with the conservancy department at the CCC office in Tiger Pass today. 

About the issue of garbage removal from the city, the mayor said that the conservancy workers should ensure cleanliness in all areas. He warned that workers who not carry out cleanliness activities would be transferred. 

He emphasized the importance of their role in keeping the city clean and urged them to take steps promptly to clean garbage.

Chief Conservancy Officer Commander Ikhtiar Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury emphasized the lack of equipment and supervision in sanitation activities. 

Malaria and Mosquito Control Officer Md. Sharful Islam Mahi, Deputy Chief Conservancy Officer Pranab Kumar Sharma, and other conservancy department officers and employees, among others, were present at the function.
