Police nets 40, seizes explosives, drugs raiding Bihari Camp

DHAKA, Sept 21, 2025 (BSS) – Police today said they seized several improvised explosives including petrol bombs and lethal weapons alongside contraband drugs and arrested 40 suspects in a protracted raid at the Bihari Camp at Mohammadpur area.

A Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) statement said a contingent of 120 policemen under their Tejgaon division with assistance of Mohammadpur police station carried out the raid at the site, better known as Geneva Camp.

“The raid started 4 pm yesterday and continued till 3.30 am today,” a police officer familiar with the anti-crime campaign said.

The DMP statement said the raid yielded seizure of eight improvised bombs called “cocktails”, two petrol bombs, three long knives, six weapons generally used by samurais, five helmets, 11 stolen mobile phone sets and 500 grams of heroin.

It said the 40 people were arrested on charges of possessing the seized items.
