TANGAIL, Sept 21, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Mohila Dal President Afroza Abbas has said the organization is prepared to play its due role in any national need, including the upcoming elections.

Speaking at an event marking the 47th founding anniversary of the Mohila Dal in Tangail, she said, "Mohila Dal played a significant role in the July Uprising and stood firmly alongside the BNP and its affiliated bodies, including Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal, during last year's street movement led by students and the public."

"Our Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is making preparations to return to the country, and we are also preparing to welcome him," added Afroza Abbas.

Referring to the upcoming elections under the Proportionate Representation (PR) system, she criticized some political parties for what she described as double standards.

"They are now talking about the PR system, but this is nothing more than hypocrisy," she said.

The discussion was chaired by Nilufa Yasmin, President of the district unit of Mohila Dal.

BNP central vice chairman Ahmed Azam Khan, district BNP President Hasanuzzamil Shahin, General Secretary Advocate Farhad Iqbal, District Unit General Secretary Advocate Roxy Mehdi, and Organizing Secretary Sultan Bilkis Lata were also present and spoke at the event.
