DHAKA, Sept 22, 2025 (BSS) – The government today appointed Bangladesh Navy’s newly promoted Captain Ikhtiar Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury as chief waste management officer of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC), an official statement said.

The public administration issued a gazette notification on the appointment of the navy captain, equivalent to colonel in army, in the municipal authority of the port city on deputation under local government ministry.

Chowdhury’s new appointment came soon after he was promoted as a navy captain from commander, equivalent to lieutenant colonel.
