Anee warns against extortion, tender rigging using BNP’s identity

LAKSHMIPUR, Sept 22, 2025 (BSS) – BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee today said none will be spared if they are found involved in any sort of criminal activities, including extortion and tender rigging, using the party’s identity.

“None will accept any sort of criminal activities, including extortion and tender rigging using the party’s identity … it will not be allowed to happen under any circumstances,” he said.

“Stern organizational measures will be taken against those involved in such misdeeds,” Anee warned addressing a BNP council at Lakshmipur district outdoor stadium this afternoon.

Mentioning that a vested quarter is trying to thwart the upcoming election scheduled for February, he said, “No conspiracy will work. It will be tackled unitedly.”

Highlighting the national elections as BNP’s main target, Anee further said that BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman had earlier advised party leaders and activists to reach every household through teamwork in a united manner.
The BNP joint secretary general said the 31-point directives of Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman are being implemented by the party.

Former Secretary Ismail Jobi Ullah, a member of the Chairperson’s Advisory Council, attended as the chief guest, while Sadar Upazila East BNP President Main Uddin Chowdhury Riaz presided over the event.
Among others, BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s Advisory Council member and former MP from Lakshmipur-2 constituency Abul Khair Bhuiyan, central BNP leader Ashraf Uddin Nijan, VP Harunur Rashid, district BNP Member Secretary Shahabuddin Sabu, district BNP Joint Convener Advocate Hasibur Rahman, district BNP leader and Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Vice-President Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy, district BNP leader Advocate Hafizur Rahman, Advocate Harunur Rashid Bepari, and BNP’s municipality unit president Rezaul Karim Liton were present.
