DHAKA, Sept 23, 2025 (BSS) – Lamia Islam and Solaiman Talukder were made president and general secretary respectively of the newly announced 30-member central committee of Rashtra Sangskar Chhatra Andolon.

The organization's chief adviser Hasnat Qayyum announced the 30-member committee at the organization's temporary office in Meherba Plaza in Dhaka on Sunday, said a press release today.
 
Other committee members are Senior Vice-President Arafat Sheikh, Vice-President Rakib Hasan Majumder, Joint General Secretary Mubarak Hossain, Organizing Secretary Nahid Hasan, Political Secretary Lamia Akhter, Office Secretary Baki Billah, Health Affairs Secretary Mir Rayan Islam, Finance Secretary Tohfatul Alfi, Information and Technology Secretary Mehdi Hasan Shanto, Sports Secretary Hasan Roman, Media and Publicity Secretary Talha Zubayer, Culture and Research Secretary Simanto Rahman and Education Affairs Secretary Rezwana Rishta.

Executive Members are Mohammad Rifat, Soab Saiham, Mahi Abdullah, Md. Safwan Ahmed, Nafiz Enam, Samiul Alam Ayanta, Ibrahim Khalil, Mirza Hamidul Islam Mehran, Sohan Al Razi, Fateh Kamal, Naim Hossain, Ishita Yasmin, Rakib Sikder Rafi, Sohag Ali and Imran Hossain.

Hasnat Qayyum also administered the oath to the new leadership. The organization's 8-point demands were raised at the time. Among the demands are : formation of an education commission, safe housing for public universities, job-oriented education, financial assistance to the educated unemployed, regular student union elections and improvement of the quality of Qawmi education.

Newly elected president Lamia Islam said  the state system does not want students to be educated in quality education and earn a good reputation at home and abroad, she said. 

She also said that the recent student union elections have proven that there is a huge demand for responsible politics among students. 

Rashtra Sangskar Chhatra Andolon is working to become a guide for responsible politics, she added. 

Organization’s Chief advisor Advocate Hasnat Qayyum, advisory council members Professor Dr. Mahbub Hossain, Didarul Bhuiyan, poet and lawyer Rudraksha  Raihan were present on the occasion.

Former general secretary of the central committee of Chhatra Dal Saif Mahmud Jewel, office secretary of Chhatra Oikya Tanvir Ahmed Swadhin, convener of July Force Mosharraf Hossain, executive committee members of the Rashtra Sangskar Andolon Mahbubur Rahman Selim and Sohel Sikder; coordination committee members Chamiul Alam Rashu, central organizer Ibnul Syed Rana, office coordinator of Dhaka Metropolitan South Committee Ehsan Ahmed, organizer of Rashtra Sangskar Krishak Andolon Ariful Islam Jewel, chief coordinator of Rastra Sangskar Sangskritik Andolon Abul Hasan Oli, among others, were also present.
