CUCSU polls deferred to Oct 15

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 23, 2025 (BSS) - The Chittagong University Central Students' Union (CUCSU) elections will now be held on October 15 instead of October 12.

Voters will be allowed to cast their votes from 9am to 4pm on October 15, said CUCSU election commissioner Professor Dr. AKM Ariful Haque Siddiqui today.

Prof Siddiqui said the election date has been revised following request from candidates and assessing the commission's current level of preparations.

The decision was made at a meeting of the election commission at 2pm today, followed by a meeting with students yesterday, he added.

All academic activities including the classes and examinations will remain suspended the after the election, the commissioner said.

Moreover, the election commission also postponed examinations scheduled to be held from October 12 to 18.
