Dhaka, 23 Sept, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has demanded immediate inclusion of all recognized non-MPO (Monthly Pay Order) educational institutions under the MPO scheme.

The demand was made during a meeting between Jamaat leaders and the Sorbodolio Non-MPO Oikko Parishad (All-Party Non-MPO Alliance) this afternoon at the Jamaat's central office here.

Jamaat's Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman presided over the meeting.

He said non-MPO teachers are playing a vital role in educating the nation and shaping future generations. They are nation builders and deserve recognition and financial security.

"We request the government to accept their just demands without delay," he added.

Prof. Mujib also called on the government for nationalizing the entire education system and increases the education budget to at least 6% of the national budget.

Jamaat's Education Secretary Principal Iqbal Hossain Bhuiyan, NCP Education Secretary Faisal Mahmud Shanto, AB Party's Education Secretary Prof. Umar Faruq, and Bangladesh Ideal Teachers' Federation President Prof. Korban Ali, among others, addressed the programme.

Other attendees included Non-MPO Alliance Coordinators Principal Selim Mia, Dabirul Islam, and Shahadat Azadi, and other regional organizers and education activists.

Participants reiterated the long-standing demand to bring all recognized non-MPO institutions under the MPO scheme.
