DHAKA, Sept 24, 2025 (BSS) – The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has completed the ICAO National Inspectors Course on aviation security with UK support on Tuesday, said a CAAB press release.

The week long course is expected to bolster the country’s capacity to ensure safer skies, CAAB officials said.

Acting Chairman of CAAB Air Commodore Abu Sayeed Mehboob Khan attended the concluding ceremony of the course as the chief guest and handed over certificates to 20 CAAB security officials who successfully completed the training.

British Deputy High Commissioner to Bangladesh James Goldman attended the event as Special Guest.

CAAB member (security) Air Commodore Md Asif Iqbal, and Civil Aviation Academy Director Prasanta Kumar Chakraborty were present, among others, on the occasion.

In his remarks, the CAAB Acting Chairman underscored the importance of the training in strengthening airport security amid evolving global threats.

Referring to the longstanding bilateral ties between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom, he thanked the British High Commission and the DFT for their continued support in this area.

Speakers hoped that the specialized training would play a vital role in building the skills and efficiency of aviation security personnel in Bangladesh.

The course was conducted by two UK-based AVSEC instructors, who led intensive sessions over seven days, the CAAB release said.
