DHAKA, Sept 24, 2025 (BSS) - An agreement has been signed between the owners and workers of Nassa Group factories to resolve the issue of unpaid wages and benefits.
The agreement was signed on Tuesday at a tripartite meeting held at the conference room of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) in the Labour Building.
The agreement came in line with the decisions of the 13th meeting of the Advisory Council Committee on labour and business conditions in the industries of Beximco Industrial Park on September 16, chaired by Labour and Employment Adviser Brigadier General (retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hossain.
According to the agreement, factory authorities will pay the outstanding wages and allowances for August by October 15 and for September by October 30.
In addition, workers will receive 30 days of basic wages as service benefits
for each full year of employment, while maternity benefits will be paid in accordance with the Bangladesh Labour Act.
All lawful dues of the workers will be cleared by November 30. The deal also
ensures that no worker will be blacklisted in any internet or database
system.
Representatives of the workers, factory management, the government, and the
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) signed the memorandum of understanding to resolve the labour unrest in Nassa Group.
