244 more AL men held with 14 crude bombs in city

DHAKA, Sept 24, 2025 (BSS) - Police have arrested 244 more leaders and activists of Awami League (AL) and its affiliated organizations along with 14 crude bombs from different places of the capital city. 
 
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) apprehended them on the basis of intelligence information that they were gathering in different areas in the capital and trying to disrupt law and order by organizing surprise processions.
 
Fifty of them were arrested by DB, 27 by CTTC, 100 by Tejgaon Division police, 55 by Ramna Division, 5 by Gulshan Division, 4 people by Mirpur Division and 3 people by Uttara Division.
 
With the help of the local people, 14 cocktails and seven banners were also seized during their arrests.
 
DMP Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) SN Md. Nazrul Islam confirmed the arrests in a press conference at the DMP Media Center on Mintoo Road in the capital this afternoon. 
 
He thanked the city residents for their cooperation in arresting a large number of leaders and activists from today's sudden processions.
 
"The DMP is working tirelessly to maintain law and order in the capital," he said, adding that it will continue in the days to come.
 
 Additional Police Commissioner of the DB Md. Shafiqul Islam was also present at the time.
 
Recently, more than five hundred leaders and activists of Awami League and its affiliated organizations have been arrested in successive operations by various units of the DMP.
