DHAKA, Sept 25, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee Member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain today provided a clear idea of who will receive the party's nominations in the upcoming national parliamentary election.
He said, "Those who are popular among the people and who are ahead in the results of the party's internal surveys will receive the BNP nominations."
Dr Zahid made the remarks as he placed a wreath at the grave of BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
The Pharmacists Association of Bangladesh organized the event marking World Pharmacists Day 2025.
The senior BNP leader informed that BNP's election preparations started almost a year and a half ago. "Activists across the country are working at the grassroots level. The party will finalize nominations very soon," he said.
"BNP will participate in the election by overcoming domestic and foreign conspiracies and will implement the declared 31-point programme with the people's support," he added.
At this moment, Dr Zahid specifically mentioned that BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will return to the country within a few weeks.
"He (Tarique Rahman) will lead the movement for the restoration of democracy, including upcoming elections," he added.
