DHAKA, Sept 27, 2025(BSS) - Mohammad Ashhadul Alam, a student of the Statistics Department of Gopalganj University of Science and Technology (GUST) has been awarded the ‘cadet under officer’ rank of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC), a press release of the university said here today. 

Ashhadul Alam is a ‘cadet sergeant’ of 22nd Battalion under Sundarban Regiment of the BNCC who has been awarded the highest rank of the institution, the release added.

The Regiment Commander of the Sundarban Regiment Lieutenant Colonel Kamrul Islam and 2nd Lieutenant of the GUST wing Ashiquzzaman Bhuiyan at a simple ceremony jointly conferred the rank to Ashhadul Alam.
 
Among others, Regiment Adjutant Major Polash Kumar Biswas and Battalion Commander of 22nd Battalion Captain Anwar Hossain Mridha were present at the ceremony at that time.

Cadet Ashhadul Alam, as a Sergeant Major of 22nd Battalion, has attached attention of all concerned during the recently held BT Camp-2025 by his extra ordinary leadership and performing administrative responsibilities, the release added.
