DHAKA, Sept 27, 2025 (BSS) - Saudia Airlines, the national flag carrier of
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, today officially opened its new state-of-the-art
City Ticketing Office in Dhaka, marking a significant milestone in its
longstanding presence in Bangladesh.
The new office, located on the 16th floor of Simpletree Attalika, 134 Gulshan
Avenue, was inaugurated by Dr. Abdullah Zafer H. Bin Abiyah, ambassador of
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh, said a press release here.
He was joined by Mr Musaed Almusaed, assistant vice president of
International Regions at Saudia Airlines, and Mr Dr Md Nazrul Islam,
secretary (East & West) of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Dr. Abiyah highlighted the deep and
historic ties between two brotherly countries Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh
rooted in shared values and friendship.
He expressed confidence that the new facility would further strengthen
people-to-people connections, enhance travel convenience, and provide
exceptional service to Bangladeshi travelers, including Hajj and Umrah
pilgrims.
Dr Nazrul Islam welcomed Saudia's investment in the Bangladeshi aviation
market. "Saudia has been a trusted partner of our aviation sector, and this
new investment will further support the growing demand for travel, while
reinforcing bilateral ties between our two nations," he added.
Tarik Alowaidi, Saudia's Country Manager for Bangladesh, noted that the
airline has expanded its flight frequency to meet the growing demands of
travelers between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia and beyond.
"This investment in our new Dhaka office reflects Saudia's unwavering
commitment to serve our valued customers with greater efficiency, comfort and
accessibility," he said.
Ahmed Yusuf Walid, Saudia's General Sales Agent (GSA) in Bangladesh,
emphasized that the airline has become a preferred carrier for long-haul
travel to Europe and North America, while also providing convenient options
for Umrah pilgrims through its streamlined stopover visa program, available
via www.saudia.co.
AKM Aftab Hossain Pramanik, Secretary of Ministry of Religious Affairs , Government of Bangladesh was also present at the launching ceremony
Built to international standards, the Gulshan office is Saudia's most
advanced facility in Bangladesh.
It offers dedicated counters for general passengers, premium cabin customers,
and AlFursan members (the airline's frequent flyer program).
The office also features a dedicated meeting space for travel trade partners,
as well as a training and conference room to host product briefings and
engagement sessions with travel agents.
The expansion is expected to further improve accessibility, reduce waiting
times, and enhance the overall passenger experience.
A key feature of the new office is Saudia's commitment to greater
digitalization, aimed at delivering faster and more accurate services to its
valued passengers.
In addition to the new Gulshan facility, Saudia will continue operating its
existing City Ticketing Offices at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka
and at Agrabad in the port city Chattogram.
The opening also coincided with World Tourism Day 2025, underscoring Saudi
Arabia's commitment to promoting its fast-growing tourism sector through the
Umrah Plus initiative that invites travelers to combine their spiritual
journeys with cultural and leisure experiences across the Kingdom, reflecting
its broader vision to become a leading global tourism destination.
