DHAKA, Sept 28, 2025 (BSS) - Spanish Ambassador to Bangladesh Gabriel Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru met Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman at the latter's office in Bashundhara here today.

During the meeting, they discussed a range of issues including the prevailing situation in Bangladesh, bilateral relations, potential areas for investment, and various matters of mutual international interest.

Ambassador Chinchetru expressed optimism about future cooperation, saying that Spain will continue to extend strong support to Bangladesh. He also voiced hope that Spanish investment in Bangladesh will increase in the coming years.

Jamaat Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Dhaka City North Jamaat Medical Police Station Ameer Dr SM Khaliduzzaman, and Jamaat Ameer's Foreign Affairs Adviser Professor Dr Mahmudul Hasan, among others, were present.

At the outset of the meeting, the Spanish envoy inquired about the health of Dr Shafiqur Rahman, wishing him good health and well-being.
