KHULNA, Sept 28, 2025 (BSS) – A poetry recitation event titled “Lines of the July Revolution” and the presentation of the July Award 2025 were held in Khulna with a pledge to resist cultural fascism with the spirit of the July Uprising. 

The program, organized by the Khulna Writers’ Forum, took place last night at the Umesh Chandra Public Library auditorium. 

Forum Convener SM Ayub Ali presided over the event, which began with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Syed Ali Hakim, convener of the celebration committee. 

Saiful Islam Mallik moderated the ceremony, while Advocate Abdullah Hossain Bacchu, Convener of the Khulna District Bar Association, Enamul Haque, Convener of the Khulna Press Club’s interim committee, BFUJ Assistant Secretary General, and Amar Desh Bureau Chief Ehteshamul Haq Shaon, among others, addressed the event. 

In recognition of contributions to the July Uprising, eight individuals – lyricist Jaglul Haider, researcher Kabedul Islam, publisher Kader Babu, online activist Dipro Hasan, graffiti collector Syed Ali Hakim, author Azadul Haq Azad, injured July fighter Abdullah Al Shafil, and courageous journalist Md. M.A. Sadi – were honored with the July Award 2025. 

The event drew participation from poets, writers, cultural activists, organizers, and a large group of elocutionists from various literary organizations across Khulna.
