Navy conducting patrols to ensure peaceful Durga Puja celebrations

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 29, 2025 (BSS) – Rear Admiral Md Mainul Hasan, Commander of Chattogram Naval Region, today said that the Bangladesh Navy has deployed contingents to carry out regular patrols across the country to maintain peace and order and to ensure a joyous celebration of the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja.

They are working closely with local authorities, police, RAB, the army, and other law enforcement agencies to prevent any untoward incidents and to ensure overall security during the Puja, he added.

In preparation for the Sharadiya Durga Puja, the Bangladesh Navy has strengthened security in its areas of responsibility.

He said this while visiting the Ekta Group Sarbajanin Puja Mandap to exchange greetings with the chief priest, the Puja organizing committee, local dignitaries, and devotees, according to a press release.

He observed the field-level preparations, security arrangements, and coordinated activities of various forces, and discussed security measures with representatives of the police, RAB, army, and other relevant forces.

The Navy has strengthened security in areas such as Chattogram, Teknaf, Cox's Bazar, St. Martin's, Sandwip, Hatia, Maheshkhali, Kutubdia, Barguna, Bhola, Khulna, Bagerhat, and various coastal regions.
