LAKSHMIPUR, Sept 29, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie today said no one will be allowed to use the party for personal interest and anyone attempting to do so, must leave the party immediately.

"The party will not be used for individual gain... if anyone tries, they will not be allowed to stay in BNP," he said while exchanging views with leaders of the Hindu community after visiting the Battoli Sri Sri Sathyanarayan temple in Sadar upazila this afternoon.

Annie, also president of Lakshmipur district BNP, said that under the directive of Tarique Rahman, BNP leaders and activists have stood guard to protect the homes and temples of the Hindu community.

He alleged that members of the Hindu community were subjected to severe persecution during the "fascist regime led by Sheikh Hasina," while BNP had safeguarded them.

"At present, the Hindu community remains safe and well. We, the BNP leaders, were by your side and will continue to stand with you in the future," he assured.

Speaking on the occasion of the ongoing Durga Puja celebration, Annie said Tarique Rahman has consistently reminded BNP leaders and workers to ensure that Hindu community members can celebrate their puja peacefully and with dignity.

He further added that BNP is working to materialize the dream envisioned by late President Ziaur Rahman.
