Over 2000 BGB personnel safeguarding Puja Mandaps in frontiers: DG

SATKHIRA, Sept 30, 2025 (BSS) – Director General (DG) of Border Guard Bangladesh Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui said here today over 2000 members of the force are now providing security to Puja Mandaps in all frontiers for peaceful celebrations of the sacred Durga Puja. 

“Appropriate measures have already been taken by the government and home ministry as Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the Hindus is celebrated in peaceful and festive way,” he said.

He made the remarks after visiting Hatkhola Sarbojonin Puja Mondir at Bhomra Land Port in the district. 
     
Siddiqui said all have been able to celebrate the     Puja in a festive manner due to the measures taken by the government. 

The BGB chief later inaugurated a programme of providing pure drinking water at Kaikhali SR High School at Shyamnagar in Satkhira district to relieve the people of the locality from acute suffering from drinking water.

He said the BGB has been working at borders as the symbol of security and trust of the people at frontiers. 

Senior BGB officers were present during the occasions.
