DHAKA, Sept 30, 2025 (BSS) – The Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested an activist of Awami League today from Ashulia, on the outskirts of the capital city and seized 1380 gram gunpowder from his possession.

The arrestee Khairul Islam (45) was detained by a squad of DB police of Tejgaon division.

Deputy Commissioner of DB (media and public relations) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the arrest.

Following information extracted from the arrestee during the interrogation, the DB team today seized 1380 gram of gunpowder from Mohammadpur Thana area in the capital.

Leaders and activists of the AL and its affiliated organizations recently brought out a sudden procession in the capital’s Tejgaon area and exploded crude bombs to create panic among the people. Khairul took part in the procession.

The DMP has vowed to capture the remaining AL activists who took part in the procession.
