LALMONIRHAT, Oct 1, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Organizing Secretary (Rangpur division) Principal Asadul Habib Dulu today urged all for maintaining religious harmony across the country.

“It is the humanitarian duty of every citizen to maintain religious harmony and goodwill,” he said while talking to reporters after inspecting the Sakwa Sarbojonin Durga Temple in Kulaghat Union of the district.

Highlighting the historical context of unity of the nation, Dulu said that the War of Independence was the outcome of combined sacrifice of people from all religions.

He elaborated that people from Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist and Christian communities fought shoulder-to-shoulder and sacrificed their lives for the cause of liberating the country.

Laying emphasis on inter-religions cooperation, Dulu urged all to focus specifically on ensuring the security of women and children during the festival.

During a meeting with organizers at the Sakwa Sarbojonin Durga Temple, Dulu called for cooperation from all parties for the smooth and peaceful completion of Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of Bengali Hindus.
