CUMILLA, Oct 2, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) South Region Chief Organizer Hasnat Abdullah said Bangladesh stands as a unique example of communal harmony where people of all faiths celebrate their respective religious festivals in peace and amity.

"If the neighboring and international communities truly want to witness how religious harmony flourishes, they must look to Bangladesh. Here, people of every faith observe their festivals joyfully and peacefully, creating a unique example for the world," he said.

Hasnat made the remarks while visiting various Durga Puja mandaps in Debidwar upazila of Cumilla last night.

He alleged that certain groups had been conspiring to disrupt the country's longstanding tradition of communal coexistence after the July movement.

"The Awami League is trying to spread false propaganda, claiming that Hindus are being persecuted, oppressed and evicted from their land in Bangladesh," Hasnat said.

Rejecting such narratives, he added, "Since August 5, 2024, not a single incident of communal or religious clash has taken place in the country."

Hasnat also welcomed the presence of leaders from different political parties at Puja celebrations, terming it a positive sign of unity.

Acting Coordinator of Debidwar Upazila NCP Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Central Organizer of Jatiya Jubo Shokti Nazmul Hasan Nahid, along with several other local NCP leaders, accompanied Hasnat Abdullah during his visit.
