Joint forces arrest 69 suspected criminals last week: ISPR

DHAKA, Oct 3, 2025 (BSS) - The defence ministry's inter service public  relations directorate (ISPR) today said military-led joint forces in a 
weeklong nationwide drive arrested 69 crime suspects like identified  terrorists, unauthorized arms traders, child traffickers, drug traders and 
members of different banned organisations.

"Units under several infantry divisions and independent brigades of  Bangladesh Army in coordination with other law enforcement agencies conducted  several joint operations in different parts of the country from September 25,  2025 to October 2, 2025," the ISPR said in a statement.
 
The joint forces arrested a total of 69 criminals and recovered 10 firearms,  two magazines, three cocktails, 27 rounds of various types of ammunition and  various types of sharp weapons used in terrorist activities from their 
possession.

"They also seized a large quantity of foreign-made drugs, mobile phone sets  and various goods and cash from the possession of the detainees," the ISPR  release said.

The arrestees were handed over to the concerned police stations for necessary  interrogation and legal proceedings, it said.

Bangladesh Army has been working to ensure security at 33,000 puja mandaps  and temples during the 'Durga Puja' celebrations through round-the-clock  patrols in 62 districts of the country including the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
 
Besides, the army is directly engaged in controlling worker dissatisfaction  in industrial areas, according to the ISPR release.

The Bangladesh Army will continue such operations to maintain the overall law  and order situation in the country. They also requested common people to  provide information about any suspicious activity to the nearest army camp.

The Bangladesh Army has been working with professionalism across the country  to maintain law and order in the current situation in the country, the release added.
