DHAKA, Oct 3, 2025 (BSS)- BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu today said the highest form of political creativity lies within culture.

“The highest form of political creativity lies within culture, where a nation’s way of life, traditions, and heritage are fully reflected,” he said.

He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion and cultural program here.

Anurag Social and Cultural Organization arranged the event at the National Art Gallery Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Anurag President Mostafa Motihar presided over the event and BNP Cultural Affairs Secretary Ashraf Uddin Ahmed Uzzal, Dhaka City South Chhatra Dal President Shamim Mahmud, actor ABM Sohel Rashid, journalist Akashmoni were present as guests.

Dudu claimed that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman did not declare independence but surrendered to the Pakistanis, while Ziaur Rahman announced independence and fought throughout the Liberation War.

“Ziaur Rahman’s leadership, sacrifice, and return to civilian life earned him a place in the hearts of the people,” Dudu added.

He praised Begum Khaleda Zia for leading the 1990 mass uprising and for remaining steadfast despite years of political persecution.

Commenting on the Awami League ruling, Dudu noted that the ruling family has a history of financial scandals, including a bank robbery during Mujib’s lifetime.

“Hasina’s rule has pushed the country toward dysfunction,” he added.

He called for a ‘true and acceptable election’ to restore democracy in Bangladesh.
