17 arrested with weapon and drugs at Geneva camp

DHAKA, Oct 5, 2025 (BSS) – Seventeen people were arrested along with weapon and drugs in a special drive conducted jointly by the Army and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-2 at Geneva Camp in the capital’s Mohammadpur area early Sunday.

The arrestees are Md Monowar Hossain (24), Md Abid Hossain (32), Md Nur Islam (20), Banya (36), Md Abdul Latif (50), Md Alamgir (40), Md Bulu (21), Md Firoz (26), Md Alamin (20), Md Bhutto (50), Md Aslam (16), Md Zafar (40), Md Tajuddin (40), Md Masum (38), Md Javed (41), Md Murad (18) and Md Babu (31).

Assistant Superintendent of Police on deputation to RAB-2 Khan Asif Topu said based on secret information, a joint operation team of the Bangladesh Army and the RAB-2 arrested them on Saturday night. 

He said during the joint operation, a samurai which was used in robbery and 4.964 kg of ganja were recovered from their possessions.

According to RAB press release, many robbery and drug-related  cases remain pending against them with different police stations.

They have been handed over to the concerned police stations for legal procedures, it said.
