Poll obstructers to be considered as foes of democracy: Dudu

DHAKA, Oct 5, 2025 (BSS)- BNP Vice-Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu has said those persons who will obstruct the upcoming national election will be branded as the foes of the country’s democracy. 

"The obstructers of electoral process will be considered as the enemies of the country's democracy, independence and sovereignty,” he said at a rally organized by the Desh Bachao Manush Bachao Andolan in front of the Jatiya Press Club here today.

The rally was organized to demand protection of the country's independence, sovereignty and democracy.

Dudu said, “A government will be elected at the choice of the people through the ballot. Any attempt against the process will be contrary to the people’s interests and democracy.”

He said, Bangladesh never got such a fascist like Sheikh Hasina in its 54 years history, who was the mastermind of mass killing and looting public wealth.

Bangladesh was ruled by a government led by Sheikh Hasina that clang to power for 15 years through farcical polls. Her action made her a public enemy and anti-people ruler.

President of the Desh Bachao Manush Bachao Andolan K M Rokibul Islam Ripon presided over the event while BNP Chairperson's Adviser Abdus Salam, Labor Party chairman Faruk Rahman, former parliament member Shamim Kaisar Lincoln, president of Ziaur Rahman Social Welfare Council Gias Uddin Khokon, spoke among others, on the occasion.
