Kosovo envoy pays courtesy call on BSTI DG

DHAKA, Oct 6, 2025 (BSS)- A delegation led by Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Bangladesh Lulzim Plana paid a courtesy call on SM Ferdous Alam, director general (DG) of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI), here today.

During the meeting, the Kosovo Ambassador and BSTI DG discussed the activities and working methods of the national standards organisations of both countries, a release said here this evening.

They highlighted the important role of standards organisations in ensuring the quality of products and services.

The discussions also focused on strengthening trade relations between the two countries, including opportunities for expanding trade between the two countries through mutual recognition of quality certificates and increasing cooperation in the standard setting process in details, it mentioned.

Such cooperation would facilitate and accelerate bilateral trade in the days to come, they hoped during the meeting. 
 
Thanking the Kosovo ambassador, the BSTI DG informed him about BSTI's current initiatives in the development of standards and norms, metrology, and modernization of testing laboratories, the release added.
