DSCC approves retirement allowance, benefits plan

DHAKA, Oct 6, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) management committee today approved the retirement allowance and retirement benefits plan, 2025 for its permanent employees.

The decision was taken at the ninth management committee meeting held at Nagar Bhaban chaired by DSCC administrator Md Shahjahan Miah.

A total of 25 members include representatives of various government departments and organizations attended the meeting.

The meeting was started with consolidation of the eighth meeting's minutes and reviewed implementation progress report.

The meeting approved in principle the plan prepared in light of the 'Pension Facilitation Order for Government Employees in the Case of Retirement Pension and Gratuity, 2020' and the 'Employee Service Rules of Dhaka South City Corporation, 2019'.

The proposals will be sent to the Local Government Division for final approval.

A total of Tk.148 crore development projects in the road sector under 75 wards for the fiscal year 2025-26 were approved.

Besides, the meeting decided to formulate a special welfare policy with provision for a one-time payment of Tk.4 lakh as a retirement benefit and a one-time grant of Tk.10,000 for burial or cremation in case of death during service and a one-time grant of Tk.3 lakh to family of the deceased employee.

Shahjahan Miah said that the corporation took road repair activities on a priority basis to reduce public sufferings. 

He asked concerned departments to work in a coordinated manner to continue citizen services easily.

DSCC chief executive officer Md Zahirul Islam, secretary Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, chief engineer, chief revenue officer, chief accounting officer, chief property officer, health officer, chief waste management officer, executive engineer and senior officials of various departments also joined the meeting.
