Fire-fighter Nurul Huda died in Tongi chemical warehouse fire graced by a baby boy

DHAKA, Oct 6, 2025 (BSS) – The family of fire-fighter Nurul Huda has been blessed with a newborn baby boy 12 days after his death in burn injury in a chemical warehouse blast in Tongi on the outskirts of the capital. 
      
Huda’s widow gave birth to a boy at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital today, Monday at 10:30 am today, said a press release of the Fire Service and Civil Defence. 
 
But even if this child sees the light of day, he will never see his father who sacrificed his life for the country.
 
In addition to his new born son, fire-fighter Nurul Huda has a 10-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son.
 
Fire-fighter Nurul Huda was seriously burned while extinguishing a fire at a chemical godown in the Sahara Market area of ??Tongi on September 22. 
 
He was later admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS) with around cent percent burn injuries.  
 
After a long battle, Huda died at the burn institute around 2:40 pm on September 24. 
 
Fire-fighter Shamim Ahmed and warehouse inspector Khandaker Jannatul Naeem also died in the incident.
 
Fire-fighter Md. Nurul Huda was born on July 21, 1987, in a respectable Muslim family in Dhamail village of Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh district. 
 
He joined the Fire Service and Civil Defence as a fire-fighter on March 29, 2007.
