DHAKA, Oct 07, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on Awami League leader and former lawmaker from Jaipurhat-1 constituency, Shamsul Alam Dudu, his wife Meher Nigar, daughter Nazmin Tania and son Meheraj Alam over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft in its plea said it had formed an investigation team to probe corruption allegations against the former lawmaker, and the team in its investigation found that the accused amassed huge illegal wealth through corruption and is still trying to launder the money abroad.

For the sake of proper investigation, a travel ban should be imposed on Shamsul Alam Dudu and his family members, the ACC plea added.
