14 held in anti-crime drive at Mohammadpur

DHAKA, Oct 7, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) from 
Mohammadpur Police Station overnight arrested 14 people allegedly involved in 
various criminal activities as part of a special anti-crime campaign under 
its jurisdiction.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station Kazi Md Rafique Ahmed 
told BSS that they netted them on charges of various crimes like mugging, 
drug trading and theft in their latest drive carried out by several teams.

The police station chief said the suspects were produced before a Dhaka court 
which sent them to jail to await trial.

Ahmed said Mohammadpur Police Station arrested over 600 suspected criminals 
last month while 125 cases were, so far, filed against the criminals as well.

The arrested are Khushi alias Khuki, 30, Amit, 25, Sagar, 30, Ismail Hossain 
Malek, 40, Mohammad Ali, 32, Awal Bepari, 42, Mishal, 18, Faisal, 18, Raihan, 
22, Imran, 26, Mamun, 25, Rabbi, 25, Naeem Molla, 23, and Manzil Sharif Apu, 
23.

The police also recovered four battery-run auto-rickshaws, 100 puria of 
heroin, 30 grams of marijuana and 18 pieces of Yaba tablets from their 
possession, the OC added.
