Tarique Rahman mourns death of Rangpur BNP leader Laku

DHAKA, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Rangpur district BNP member secretary Anisur Rahman Laku.

In a message of condolence posted on his verified Facebook page Tarique Rahman said Rangpur district BNP member secretary, former general secretary of Rangpur district Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal and former general secretary of district Jubo Dal, Anisur Rahman Laku fell sick on the way to Rangpur last night and passed away while undergoing treatment at Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

He said Laku was a committed BNP leader, who started politics from his student life with deep faith in the principles and ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttam. 

“He has worked with dedication to organize and strengthen Rangpur district BNP,” he said adding, “The demise of a noble politician like him is an irreparable loss to the party. I am deeply saddened by his death.”
He prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members, relatives, admirers and well-wishers.
